This is
tfle seventeenth monthly report as required under the approved TR.
We continue to control and manage seepage water emanating from the adit. Seepage floes were
directed into the infiltration trench at all times. Flow rates directed to the infiltration trench were below
tfie 30 gpm threshold, as noted i!t r.he att;tuhed sumrrlary table. Trench performance continues to meet
ur exceed expectations. The two .21 vadcse zone piezonteteis adjacent to the infiltration treitrh were
monitored per the Technical Revisinrt conditions. Jadose zone water was not detected In the
piezometers nor was there evidence of surface water in the vicinity of the trench. Vaduse zone
piezometer monitoring data is attached with other monitoring data for the trench and adit flows. Two
water quality samples 13-99 Trench Inlet & 3-16-99 Trench Inleti were taken during the report period;
analytical data are attached.
In addition, as part of this monthly report and in accordance with the 9360 Level Adit Closure
Monitoring Plan, dated April 1998, Windy Gulch monitoriny was continued during this period. No flow
was observed due to frozen conditions at the WGL weir on March 5, 1999, and therefore a water
quality sample was not taken.
Thank you for your time and attention on this matter.
