Applegate Group, Inc. requests approval of a substitute <br />water supply plan pursuant to Section 37-80-] 20 (2) C.R.S. for the Duck~~~orth Pit sand and grate el <br />mining operation. Colorado 80221-0599 <br />(30.) 657-4330 <br />A check made out to the Division of Water Resources for 51343.00 for the gravel pii substitute <br />supply plan review is enclosed. A «ravel pit well permit application and the required S480.00 fee <br />will be submitted in a separate letter. <br />PROJECT DESCR1PT1ON <br />The Duckworh Pit is located along Boulder Creek southeasi of Lon~nont in Section ] 6. T2\. <br />R6SW, 6'~ P.M. Figure No. 1 is a vicinity map ofthe Duckworth Pit mining site. The operation will <br />impact the Boulder Creek with depletions from evaporation of exposed groundwater, moisture lost <br />in the mined material. and from dust control used on site. <br />Lafarge is scheduled to complete mining of the existing agt,~egate reserves at the adjacent <br />Cottonwood Pit, M-88-042, during 2004 (Figure No. 1). The mining operation will shift to the <br />Duckworth Pit as the new source of aggregate. Instead of building new processing facilities, it is <br />more cost-effective for Lafarge to convey the mined material to the existing facilities at the adjacent <br />Cottomvood Fit for processing. <br />There will be two mining cells at the site.
