Sttriae - 2.05.3 <br />the parking lot, so the coal trucks can return to State Hrghway 133. Portions of the <br />• trtairt access and haul road and the Ellt Creek Canyon Road previously provided <br />limited public access to the cemetery located above the town of Somerset. <br />Expanston of the Ellt Creek coal stockpile cut-off this access to the cemetery. A <br />new haul road constructed in conjunction with the West Valley Fill refuse deposal <br />area replaced the old cemetery road and e now the main access for the cemetery. <br />Additional details on mine roads are provided in subsequent roads section. <br />M West Valley Haul Road - In conjunction with development of the West Valley coal <br />mine waste pile, a new haul road was constructed from the existing employte <br />parking lot to the West Valley waste pile and extending beyond the fill area to the <br />Somerset Cemetery. The haul road e designed and constructed for all-weather use. <br />Additional details on mine roads are provided in subsequent road handling section. <br />N. Parking Lot -The parking lot e a graded gravel-surfaced area that provides parking <br />for mine employEes. <br />O. Mne Office -The previous mine office building was removed in conjunction with <br />expansion of the Elk Creek coal stockpile. Anew office building was constructed <br />just south of the existing East Yard coal stockpile area. The new office building e a <br />single-story pre-engineered metal building with gabled roof on a concrete footer <br />foundation. <br />P. Shop and Warehouse -The previous shop and warehouse was removed in <br />conjunction with expansion of the Elk Creek coal stockpile, and a new shop and <br />warehouse building was constructed in the East Yard area. The new <br />shop/warehouse e a two-story pre-engineered metal building with gabled roof on a <br />concrete slab foundation. The shop provides the surface maintenance and repatr <br />facihties required in conjunction wtth operation of the underground mine. The <br />warehouse e rued for receiving, storage and 'issuing of materials and supplies used in <br />the operarion of the mine. <br />Q. Lamp Building - This e a quortset building on a concrete foundation. It houses the <br />miners' light service and repair facility, miner check-in and check out station, and <br />waiting room for shift change. <br />R Women's Change Facility - This e a structural steel building on a concrete <br />foundation that houses the women's change and bath facility. 'Iles building ako <br />houses a 4,000-gallon electric hot water tank that furnishes hot water for the mine <br />bath facilities. <br />S. Sanitary Building - Tlris e a structural steel building on a concrete foundation. It <br />houses the men's change, bathing, and sanitaryfacihues. <br />T. Ctilittary Water Collection and Treatment Plant -The collection and treatment <br />facility consisu of a gravel infiltration bed, perforated CMI' collection network, two <br />pumps, chlorinator, pump house and a pipeline for delivery of the treated water to <br />the 200,000-gallon storage tank <br />U. 200,000-Gallon Culinary Water Tank -The water tank provides storage for culinary <br />water supplyto the mine and the town of Somerset. The tank e a steel plate tank on <br />• a reinforced concrete foundation. The tank e supplied by a pipeline from the water <br />supply infiltration gallery and treatment plant located on an alluvial terrace on the <br />north side of the North Fork of the Gunneon River. <br />PR04 2.05-15 Revised August 2000 <br />
