The north decline east and west sumps are designed to contain the 25-year 24 hour
storm event without discharge. The sumps were dry during the inspection. The sumps
were certified by Larry M. Reschke, P.E. on December 21, 1992. Based on visual
observations during the inspection and a hand level survey of the depth of the sumps,
the sumps have excess capacity plus the following design capacity:
Water Sediment Total
East Sump - A-F 0.80 NIA 0.80
West Sump - A-F 0.32 N!A 0.32
The sewage lagoons located at the unit train loadout consist of an aeration lagoon and
a series of-three non-discharging lagoons. The lagoons were dry during the inspection.
The capacity of the lagoons is not considered important and is therefore not presented.
The lagoons are inactive. The embankment on all of the lagoons needs to be graded to
smooth out erosional features. Plans are to delay maintenance of the embankments
until the sewage treatment system is re-activated.
To the best of my knowledge
have been maintained as d6:
0
applicable regulations. ~o~Q
1 ~
s~saQ'g~v
ST,~'Ja ~g
~~ .
v~~a
_v~i ~ 0
and except an noted above, the impoundments
in accordance with the approved plan and
aal Engineer
9230
-4-
B Oi
--_9
