Walther
Executive Director
Ronald W. Canany
Acting Division Director
The Division has reviewed Trapper Mining Int.'s First Quarter 2002, Second Quarter 2002, and Third
Quarter 2002 Sediment Pond Inspection reports. Reports were received on Apri129, 2002 for the first
quarter, August 1, 2002 for the second quarter, and September 23, 2002 for the third quarter. Quarterly
sediment pond reports are submitted to the Division in compliance with Rule 4.05.9(17). Second quarter
reports identified several ponds that required sediment markers re-staked and one pond identified for
clean out. Middle Pyeatt No.l pond was cleaned of sediment in August 2002. Due to a high intensity
thunderstorm in August 2002, East Pyeatt No. 1 pond was cleaned of sediment in August 2002 as well.
DMG field inspections confirm that maintenance work identified in Trapper's Quarterly Sediment Pond
reports were conducted. No problems with the ponds were identified that remain unresolved. At the
time, DMG has not received Trapper's Fourth Quarter 2002 Quarterly Sediment Pond Report.
Thank you for the timely submittal of these reports.
Sincerely,
Janet
--'---
Specialist
enclosure
C:/jhb/C81010/Sediment Pond Inspection/2002 1S` 2na 3`a Q dot
Cc: Dan Hernandez, DMG
