was available and was utilized to extend the riprap to the
top of the spillway flank in some areas.
The "as built" outflow has a grade of 43%, which
necessitates the use of sand-cement to concrete the riprap
in place. The larger rocks available from the riprap stock
are positioned at the base of the outflow, where the outflow
joins a natural drainage that accesses the south side of the
Yampa River bed.
Cursory inspection of the Yampa River Sedimentation Pond on
5May92 indicates that the pond is functioning satisfactor-
ily. Water level in the pond is at the base of the
dewatering pipe, with sporadic, minor water flow through the
pipe. The culverts on the south side of the pond that extend
under the road south of the pond appear to be functioning
properly.
The opportunity to be involved in the design and installa-
tion of the emergency spillway is most appreciated.
Respectfully submitted,
r ~
7
Eugene M.
