No strong correlations were identified. Thera was a weak correlation of <br />lead with manganese and manganese with iron. Generally, when lead was detected, <br />manganese also was detected; when iron exceeded inatream standards, manganese <br />was detected. <br />The lack of correlation is expected if metals are not associated gecchemicttlly or if <br />detection of metals is a function of analytical error rather than metals concentration. <br />Geochemically, some correlations would be expected, such as copper, lead or rJnc <br />with iron, or cadmium with zinc.
