Amain access road was cut adjacent to the southern fence line of this section, and a <br />mining access road was cut just to the north (I believe located on Zone I of the Pre-mining Map). <br />Although a great deal of damage was done to the obvious archaeological sites under this road, the <br />midden area remains intact and deserves preservation or scientific excavation. <br />The prospect of surface mining this section, prior to thorough investigation by <br />professional archaeologists, would be a serious mistake and forever destroy the archaeological <br />record there contained.
