In general, preventative maintenance will follow procedures
from the manufacturer. A schedule ofcalibration and maintenance will be kept with the instrument.
6.8 Data Assessment Proccdures
Data quality will be evaluated based on sampling techniques and analytical quality controls.
A State of Colorado-certified laboratory will be used, therefore formalized audits of laboratory
systems by American Soda will not be conducted. Informal audits of field work will be sufficient
to ensure that SOPS are being followed. Performance of both field and laboratory QA systems will
be assessed based on results of laboratory and field quality control samples.
A general evaluation of data quality will consider potential sources of error, including gross
errors, systematic errors, and random errors. The percent difference between duplicate samples and
the analytical results from any blank samples will be evaluated.
6.9 Corrective Action
Corrective action indicators have been developed for deviations from established water
quality data, process monitoring, and hydrostatic pressure monitoring. The corrective action criteria
for such deviations aze presented in this section.
6.9.] Water Quality DnJa
Water quality data will be compiled as each data point is acquired. The environmental
coordinator will review these data at each update. Once the ambient data has been assembled,
numeric protection levels and `practice-based' permit conditions will be established by the IILM
with respect to protection of the groundwater. In the event that corrective action is indicated, the
following sequence of procedures will be initiated.
1. The sample(s) will be submitted for re-analysis to all reporting laboratories.
2. Samples will be recollected and submitted for analysis.
3. If the preceding two corrective action items (Nos. 1 and 2) fail to yield reproducible
results, the data will be invalidated.
In the event that a sample was lost or destroyed, item 2 of the corrective action sequence
would be initiated.
Agapito Associates, Inc.
