Northern M1 Mine Sediment Pond PE Certification Report <br />The survey and site inspection for the pond certification <br />was conducted on July 25, 1984. <br />The following items were checked to see if they coincided <br />with the design shown in Exhibits C-13 and C-14 of the <br />Modified Permit Application for the Meeker Area Mines and <br />Associated Facilities, Rio Blanca County, Colorado <br />submitted in October 1982. The pond design was supplied by <br />international Engineering Company of Denver. <br />1) Constructed elevations: The elevations listed below <br />were checked with a precision level and stadia road: <br />-Dewaterinq pipe inlet <br />-Dewaterinq pipe outlet <br />-Top of Dam <br />-Bottom of Spillway <br />-Toe of Dam <br />-Bottom of Pond <br />All elevations were found to be within 0.1 or 0.2 feet <br />of the design. <br />2) Width of Spillway Design: 70.0 ft. Measured: 70 ft. <br />8 in. <br />3) Height of Embankment Design: 9.75 ft. Measured 10.0 <br />ft. <br />4) Slope of Dam Design: 2.SH:1.OV max. Measured: <br />3.OH:1.OV <br />5) Compaction of Embankment Design: 958 modified <br />proctor. Measured: could not be determined although <br />the dam showed no evidence of bulging, cracking, <br />sliding or seepage. An adequate thickness of rip-rap <br />was used to line the downstream slope. <br />6) width of Top of Dam Design: 9 ft. Measured: 18 ft. <br />7) Gabion Construction Design: See Exhibit C-13, C-14. <br />Measured: as shown in the design. <br />8) Pond Dimensions and Capacity Design: See Exhibit <br />C-13, C-14. Measured: as shown in the design + 58. <br />9) Rip rap Construction Design: 508 + 6" rip rap to be <br />
