The coal at Grassy Gap dips to the
west and west north west. Pits 2, 3, and 4 should probably discharge spoils
along their west sides at the lowest elevation(s). Pit 1 will discharge at
the northwest corner, and Pit 5 will discharge along the north-central to
northeast side. Angering was planned for Pit 6, but I am not sure whether it
was performed. I'd look on the northeast corner for springs and seeps.
Dimension of Spoils Wells
Casing ht. above Ground
Drilled Depth from Ground's
Surface
Total Depth
Perforated Interval
Depth of Lowest Coal
in Area
Measured Depth of Water
Pit 2 Pit 5
Spoils Well Spoils Well
6'2" 6'
19'6" 34'
25'8" 40'
Bottom 15' Bottom 20'
38' 50
18' - Little Water Dry
215 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
