to be mined: 32.5 Acres
3. Due to the high salinity levels within the existing project soils, no
topsoil material will be striped or stockpiled. Reclamation for the project
will require imported, suitable topsoil material to be placed across all
areas disturbed during the mining operations.
4. A 5' Landscape strip, installed per the City of Grand Junction
Requirements, shall be provided along the entire length of the project
along 23 Road and G Rood.
5. The entire project site shall be fenced. A 6' choinlink fence with
screening fabric shall be used in all areas which front 23 Road and G
Rood, and all residential uses. A high tension wire fence shall be used
in all other areas.
6. All precipitation runoff shall be collected and retained in a new
retention pond constructed along the west edge of the project. All
disturbed areas within the project shall be graded such that drainage will
be collected within this retention pond.
7. Haul roads depicted on this drawing may be adjusted or relocated as
necessary to promote safe mining and access practices. Haul roads
shall be covered with clean gravels as required to control dust. Haul
roads, stockpiles, and other disturbed areas shall be kept damp, covered,
or chemically treated with magnesium chloride, as required, to control
dust.
8. Access to and from the mining operations shall be from 23 Road
only. Truck traffic shall primarily use Highway 6 do 50 to 23 Road when
accessing the mining facility.
9. Mining for sands and grovels shall not extend past the buffer limits
established on the project drawings, unless otherwise noted. In no case
shall the rock crusher be located within 500 feet on a residential home.
10. The mining duration for Phase I and Phase 11 areas is anticipated to
be 5 years each for each phase. Reclamation of the project site is
anticipated to be completed 2 years after all mining operations have
been completed. ;
11. The Operator shall limit the mining and backfill operations such that
adequate fill materials ore available on the project site to reclaim the
site in accordance with the approved reclamation plan. To accomplish
this, the Operator will maintain a sufficient quantitiy of suitable fill soils
to reclaim the site, and limit mining and backfill operations such that at
no time the site will require more than 50,000 cubic yards of material to
reclaim the site.
