4.5-6.5 feet over the center of the panel. The tygical
angle of draw cited for Western Coal mines is 15°-25 and
for the Raton Basin, 16° (Mining Engineering Handbook, p.
950). Monitoring data for the NW#1 panel indicates that
the angle of draw may exceed this range; a 30° angle of draw
was used in defining the projected area of subsidence on
maps 16 and 17. Additional monitoring to provide better
resolution and more accurately define the angle of draw is
planned for the Northwest #2 longwall panel.
(e) (i) (F) Maps:
(I). Existing subsidence features are shown on the
Subsidence Monitoring Map 17A.
(II). The extent of proposed mine workings is shown on
Map 3 - Mine Plan.
(III). The ground surface areal extent of subsidence
based on an expected angle of draw of 30 degrees with a
200' buffer zone is shown on Map 16 - Structure
Inventory.
(IV). The areal extent of predicted subsidence
related phenomena is shown on Map 16 - Structure
inventory.
• (e)(ii)(B) For minor, non-material subsidence damage, the
following response, and repair plan shall apply.
1) As longwall mining approaches structures that may incur
minor damage not resulting in material damage nor diminution
of value, these structures will be routinely inspected on a
regular basis.
2) If minor non-material damage is observed, repairs to
mitigate this minor non-material damage will be implemented
as soon as practicable. These steps shall include, but not
be limited to:
a). Back filling and grading of subsidence cracks that
impact roads.
b). Backfilling subsidence cracks that may present a
potential hazard to health and safety.
2.05.6(6)(f) Subsidence Control Plaa
Subsidence control is achieved by adopting Longwall Mining
as a means of controlled subsidence for areas where
renewable resources or structures may be impacted.
• 2.05-58
(Revised OS-18-94)
