Cattany
Acing Division Director
The Division has reviewed Trapper Mining Inc.'s Fourth Quarter 2002 Sediment Pond Inspection
reports. TMI's fourth quarter 2002 sediment pond reports were received by the Division, on January 21,
2003. Timely submittal of these reports is in compliance with Rule 4.05.9(17).
Sediment levels for many of the ponds was unreported due to snow and ice cover in the ponds.
The fourth quarter report indicates that the sediment level mazker needs to be replaced in Middle Pyeatt
No. 1. Rills were noted on the upstream face of East Pyeatt No. 3 pond. This damage is attributed to
cattle grazing and should be corrected during the spring of 2003. Steepening of the embanlm3ent of Ells
No. l is noted in the report with corrective measures to be enacted during 2003 construction season. The
report does not indicate that the integrity of this pond is compromised by this condition. No report is
recorded for Middle Flume No. 3. Please provide information regazding this missing pond report.
Thank you for the timely submittal of these reports.
Sinceltlely,
C:/jhb/C81010/Sediment Pond Inspection/2002 fourth q.doc
Cc: Dan Hernandez, DMG
