Dept of lJ~tur~l Resourees <br />ke: Certification keports for the Trinidad Basin Mine <br />Dear Mile: <br />Enclosed are the hydrologic certification reports for the <br />Trinidad Basin Mine. Worl; began on Hpril ~~, 1985 to revise the <br />sediment control system at the mine and also to perform final <br />reclamation. By April 2(7, 19ES, all sediment ponds to remain <br />were brought to specifications. Other sediment ponds were <br />reclaimed, three unreclaimed pits were bac4:filled and topsdiled, <br />the coal pad area was reclaimed, rills and gullies were repaired <br />and certain haul roads were reclaimed according to permit <br />requirements. <br />Hlthough good weather was a factor in the timely completion of <br />the wort:, the but{: of the credit gdes to the crew. The four <br />man-one woman crew (three from F;entucky> was undoubtedly the most <br />efficient crew I have ever been associated with and the fob was a <br />prime example of what can be done in a short period of time if <br />the right people are working together. Mike, your assistance in <br />wvrl:ing with us throughout the reclamation process is greatly <br />appreciated. <br />Site inspections and measurements needed for the certifications <br />were per#armed throughtout the period from April 3 to April 2u, <br />1985. 1 am a certified engineer in the State of Colorado with <br />experience in the Eastern and Western U. S. in the design and <br />construction of haul roads, sediment ponds, coal refuse sites and <br />other facilities normally associated with coal mines. <br />Inspections and measurements were conducted by myself and <br />Trinidad Basin Mining employee Mary Bartlett. A precision eye <br />level, stadia rod and measuring tape were used to verify <br />elevations, slopes, pond volumes, etc. <br />., . <br /> <br /> .. <br />
