GAS PRODUCTION PIPELINES
' Communications have been received from Colorado Interstate
Gas Company and Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company in response
' to our inquiries about location of gas lines and rights-of-way.
Panhandle Eastern points out that its right-of-way for the
' four-inch gas pipeline is 50 feet. Our excavation line is set
back 20 feet from the right-of-way line with 3:1 slopes into
1 the pit. This means that the closest excavation to the line
' will be 70 feet. Panhandle's line is clearly marked except for
one area. We will ask that it be ground-marked prior to mining.
This is a service offered by Panhandle Eastern.
C.I.G. requested a 40-foot excavation setback from its two
' two-inch gas pipelines. We have complied and have added another
' 20 feet so that the closest dig to these two lines will be 60
feet. Pit walls will slope 3:1 along the lines.
1

1

1
1
1
1 39
