Long
Divivon Director
The Division of Minerals and Geology has reviewed the Discharge Monitoring Reports
(DMR) for the Golden Eagle mine, CDPS permit COG-850040, for the 41h quarter 1998,
15` quarter 1999, and 2n° quarter 1999. The DMR's indicate no discharge during any of
the three quarters. This is consistent with field inspection observations during the
period covered by the reports. Field inspection also confirms that pond 3 :and pond 4
were reclaimed in December of 1998. Department of Health correspondence, copied to
DMG, states that until a final termination notice is received from the Water Quality
Control Division, monitoring and reporting must continue. These reports appear to
satisfy that obligation and the additional requirement of DMG to be copied on all those
reports.
We have no further questions at this time. Thank you for your diligence in pursuing your
monitoring and reporting as required.
Sincerely ,
Kent A.
