Order # 98-10-148 Colorado State Unversity Page 2
ANALYTICA, INC. CASE NARRATIVE
tSamples were prepared and analyzed according to methods outlined in the
following references:
' o Methods for Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes, USEPA 600/4-79-020,
March 1983 .
0 Guidelines Establishing Test Procedures for the Analysis of Pollutants,
40 CFR, Part 136, 7-1-97 Edition.
o Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 17th Edition,
1989.
All analyses meet quality assurance objectives.
Samples arrived late in the day and on the last day of the holding time for
several wet chemistry parameters (i .e. nitrate and nitrite analysis) . Instead
' of the client incurring surcharges to analyze the samples for nitrate, which
would incur overtime for lab employees; an agreement was reached to analyze the
samples for NO2/NO3 and nitrite and determine the nitrate concentration by
' subtraction. This is an EPA aproved method.
Client Sample ID# AEL SAMPLE ID# Nitrate Concentration mg/L
013-2C Cherokee Silo Ash 9810148-OJC 0 .140
014-2C Cherokee Fly Ash 9810148-02c 0.084
1
1
1
t
