The average annual <br />precipitation is 18 to 25 inches and the frost-free season is 20 to 50 days. Typically there rs <br />a duff layer 2 inches thick consisting of undecomposed needles and twigs. The s <br />ubsurfaCe layer 5 Avery pale brews gravelly sandy loam 12 inches thick.-The sulsoil is- <br />very gravely loamy sand 34 inches thick. The substratum is very gravelly sand that extends <br />to 60 inches w more. Permeability is rapid. The effective roctng dept <br />h is 60 inches or more. The availabe water ppacily is kwv. <br />Rurwff 5 sbw. <br />Hazard of water erosion is slight. <br />Thls map and is incapability subclass Vle. <br />This deep, well drained soil is on uplands. It fomred in colluvium and glacial drift derived <br />form a varidy of rocks. The surtace layer is loam abad 10 inches thick. The subsurface <br />layer is bam about 5 inches thick. The subsoil is cobbly clay barn ab <br />out 33 inches thick. The substratum is cobbly clay bam to a depth of 60 inches w more. <br />Permeability is moderate, and the available water capacity is high. Effective rooting depth rs <br />60 or more inches.
