One permit limitation exceedence occurred during this period for Outfall 016.
Outfall 016 was not sampled during the month of April due to a miscommunication error on TCC's part. An
outside contractor sampled this site on March 31, 1998 instead of April 1, 1998 which a whac we had agreed upon.
Both of these days fall in the same week and cover the weekly visit to the site, but do not fall into the permi[ted
parameters for this site. An error of this type is rare and not a common occurrence in our NPDES program.
The following explanations of the reported statistics demonstrate that the site was visited per permit regulations:
All Outfalls were visited five times during the month due to the extra week Falling into this time period, except for Outfalls
016 and 017 which were visited only four times during the month because [he outside contractor did the sampling for these
sites on the last day of March; Outfall 007 waz not flowing on 4/27/98 and also has two additional Silver parameters;
Both Outfalls 003 and 005 have extra Iron parameters for the month due to an oversight at the laboratory; Also, these
above mentioned Outfalls have extra Field parameters for April due [o In-house WET Tes[ing being conducted; Outfa11010
does not have a flow reading for 4/6/98 because the Pygmy meter was being fixed at this time.
Outfalls 00t, 005, and 007 are being tested for Hardness in addition to the required parameters. TCC is condutting
some internal sampling to further explain some issues that have previously been in question with the NPDES
requirements. A copy of these results is included in the submittal.
All sites discharged at some point during the month except for Outfalls 020 and 004, so there is no discharge to enable
chemical or toxicological testing to date.
Please contact me a[ (970 0, ext. 2805 for any further questions or additional information.
Colorado
enclosures
Caner
tal Specialist
cr.
