Among the items discussed was the monitoring of
springs in the area. A draft report was prepared by us, reviewed by
"' West Elk and Anaconda Minerals, and presented verbally to CMLRD staff
in a meeting in their offices January 19, 1984, The attached report
includes conclusions reached at the later meeting together with comments
' of the reviewers.
In th"~ report we have gathered information on the springs relative to
' their .:ulogy, yeology, and location with respect to current and
future mining operations, The information was then used to justify
a particular springs' relevancy as a monitoring point.
:' Per the Cox memo, the discussion of the springs is presente ., :, t.n
whether they are situated above or below the F-seam coal, ~ :' ~ :,i"~~.
they are located in the north half of the Dry Fork drainage or tl~e suuLll
' part of the North Fork Drainage,
I- We have forwarded five copies of the report to Paige, She will send
two of them to the CMLRD,
Very truly yours,
' ~~~
E.
