This exceeded the effluent limit of 45 mg/1 stipulated
in NPDES Permit No. CO-0037656.
This exceedance is due to the naturally high TSS concentrations in the
spring snowmelt runoff. Peabody Coal personnel aze planning to survey
the pond to determine whether or not dredging will be needed. Surveying
is expected to commence in early June at which time the ground will
be dry enough to permit heavy equipment to move on site if required.
Please contact me if you h~e any questions.
Sincerely,
/~
Jay Mednick
Hydrogeologist
kmt
c: Anne Baldrige, CMLR
Slade Dingman
Craig Jennings
Dennis Jones
Steve Martin, OSM
Tom Wainwright
Don Zuliar~ •
~~ -~
