EXHIBIT J <br />VEGETATION RESOURCES <br />Soil Survey the Natural Resources Conservation Service, U. S.D.A. states ... <br />The dominant plant association is Artemisia tridentate/ Etytrigia smithii. <br />The native vegetation on this unit is mainly western wheatgrass, mountain <br />big sagebrush, muttongrass, and Letterman's needlegrass. Other plants that <br />characterize this unit [Narraguinnep-Dapoin complex] are Columbia <br />needlegrass, slender wheatgrass, and Saskatoon serviceberry. The average <br />production of air-dry vegetation is about 2, 000 pounds per acre on both <br />soils. <br />Vegetation on "Badland" soils is relatively sparse communities of the same species, although black sage is <br />predominant due to the very shallow or non-existent soils. <br />Pinon-juniper forest occupy the slopes of the Plateau Creek gorge as well. <br />[ENDJ <br />-26- <br />~'bzraa~e auo ~+z,eai aFaaMS swasra+e <br />
