89998 U.S. 40 West, Box BOAS, Steamboat Sprln9s, <br />June 4, 1985 <br />Twenty Mile Coal Co. <br />Box 897 <br />Oak Creek, CO 80467 <br />Attn: Mike Astute <br />Reference: Haul road connecting Twenty Mile Coal Co. haul <br />road with Colorado Yampa Coal Co. haul road, <br />Permit No. C-056-82, Sta. 0 + 00 to Sta. 2 + 90 <br />Subject: Certification of Haul road at Foidel Creek Mine, <br />Twenty Mile Cosl Co. for the State of Colorado <br />Mined Lend Reclamation Board for Coal Mining <br />Dear Mr. Astuto: <br />On 10/10/84, 10/26/84 end 3/20/85, our company observed the <br />placement for and performed density testa on the subgrade, <br />subbase, sad base course materials on the referenced haul <br />road. The purpose of our inapectiana were to insure that <br />proper construction procedures were being used and that the <br />final product was is accordance with Rule 4.03.1 (3) d, VII <br />and VIII of the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. <br />Two Proctor tests were performed on the subbase and base <br />course materiels using AASHTO T-180 in accordance with 4.03 <br />(3) d VII. All of the Field Density Tests met the 95X <br />compaction as required by the Response under 4.03.1 (3).d, <br />VIII. The grade end pitch requirements under 4.03.1 (3) e <br />II and III were not exceeded since the road itself was <br />constructed in a relatively flat area.
