Timely
submittal of these reports is incompliance with Rule 4.05.9(17). Sediment pond inspections were
conducted by TMI on June 9, 13, 15, and 16, 2005.
Four ponds were reported discharging at the NPDES point at the time they were inspected. These ponds
include No Name No. 5, Johnson l OR, East Middle Flume No. 3, and East Middle Flume No. 1 Pond. East
Pyeatt Pond No. 1 has greater than 60% capacity level of sediment and is slated for clean out this
construction season. Sage No. 2 Pond needs a sediment marker installed. Dewatering wells located just
west of G-strike pit are being pumped to Middle Flume No. 1 pond and East Middle Flume No. 1 Pond.
This practice is discussed in the permit and is acceptable. No other maintenance items were noted in the
reports. No significant problems with the ponds were reported for second quarter 2005.
Sincerely,
C:/jhb/C81010/Sediment Pond Inspection/2005/2"d q 2005.doc
Cc: Dan Hernandez, DMG
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
