Within confined aquifers, the amount of fluctuation from year to <br />year in well water levels depends on the ability of the aquifer to <br />transmit water. Water level changes in the Trinidad-Vermejo-Raton <br />aquifer near Trinidad, Colorado from 1978 to 1981 ranged from +5 to <br />=23 feet (fig. 7.3-2). water level fluctuations in this aquifer near <br />Raton, New Mexico generally increase as the ability of the aquifer to <br />transmit water decreases (Kaiser Steel Corp., written communication). <br />u <br />u <br />6p <br />
