Classification
tests, back pressure permeability and triaxial shear tests were performed
in general accordance with applicable methods of the American Society for
Testing and Materials.
• The permeability test and the staged stress path triaxial shear test were
performed on the same specimen, remolded to approximately 90$ maximum dry
density determined in accordance with ASTM D1557.
The permeability and triaxial tests were conducted after the specimen was
saturated and consolidated. Saturation was considered complete when a
Skempton "B" parameter of 0.98 was determined at 33.5 PSI confining pres-
sure. The staged stress path triaxial test was performed at effective
confining pressures of 15.5, 31.5 and 45.0 PSI with the specimen allowed
to consolidate before each test. Pore water pressure was measured and the
test results are presented in terms of effective stresses.
Please contact me if you have any further questions regazding the test
procedures and equipment used or the final test results. We would be
pleased to provide any additional testing, analysis, design, or construc-
tion control services you may require.
It has been a pleasure serving you
Good luck with your project.
Respectfully submitted,
INSTRUCTION MATERIALS CONSULTANTS, INC.
Raymond G.
