We have indicated the OUL number for each of these
samples on the enclosed table.
The fluorescein dye wncentration is based upon a standard routinely used at the
OUL. It is a mixture of 75% dye and 25% diluent, and the concentration is based upon
the as-sold weight of the dye.
The fluorescence intensity of the tracer dye can decrease at low pH values such as
may be encountered in coal mine azeas. Your water samples aze routinely analyzed
undiluted, and then mixed with an equal volume of the OUL eluant to ensure that the pH
will always be in excess of pH 7, and analyzed again.
(cont'd)
Water and Land Use Investigations in Soluble Rock Terrains
