COLORADO YAMPA COAL COMPANY
CERTIFICATION INSPECTION FOR DRAINAGES
DATE OF INSPECTION August 29, 1988
INSPECTION ACTIVITIES
o Checked grade and channel dimensions for lower 200' of
Drainage 41
o Checked bedding and riprap placement for key cut and upper
section of Drainage 31-1
o Checked grade and channel dimensions for Drainage 7
o Photographed channel configuration material placement
FINDINGS
o The lower 250' of Drainage 41 gradually flattened in
transition to the key cut. Measured grades were in the range
from 20.4-21.6%. Channel gradient for the section measured
was acceptable based on design specifications. The lower 50'
of the channel narrowed to approximately 24' in a transition
to the incised key cut.
o Bedding and riprap placement thicknesses for the key cut and
upper 70' of Drainage 31-1 were checked and found to be
acceptable. Channel definition appeared to be a problem, with
excessive large rock in the flow path.
