Re: technical Revision -MLR File~129
This technical revision request covers three revisions. There is no change in the
' acr®age. of the. ~E~~,~~q 1 Aoay d~:_ the acre a :to. be reclaimed .
a,. irk .;' T7-Z'~ ' _ c ._ ~'
both timetables.giv~s;a sQScific range. of years of exactly 2, 3, 4 or 5 years,in all
s Stages and Phases,.'TJe +$3sh to delete this ~pgfeS:Fic and exact metho$ of estimating
revision amiually, We submit faY approval a ~ange'of years duri~ which mining and
_ .. reclamation may occur. Please see cerreht aud;proposed examples below. Revised
pages 11-12 and 17-20 are attached,
Stage or Phase Years Total ,Water etc., etc,.
0~
r~ .Current II 198~Ci-1990 26.36 22.91
Proposed II 4-6 26.36 22.91
`: The second revisiou,riead_pnly be considered if tTie change in the timetable is denied.
We expect. to finish"9tage i,.¢uring the 1979-1x80 mining year. This is approximately
F- one year, ahead of our e9tiima~ed timetable. We request the approved timetable be
revised to.show Stage Y'as being mined from 1878-1980 rather than 1978-1981 and that
Stage II.show mining from 1980-19$$ rather tfian 1982-1985. The reclamation phases
then should be appYOpriately changed from 1982-T986 to 1981-1985 and 1986-1990 to
1985-990. As 3ou.can see, if we continue to mine at this accelerated pace, we will
saoa be amending these ~;,etiCious year estimates annually.
The thud revision is a~.53.ight'ehattge in the procedure on approximately 1.26 acres
k;,. in Phase 0. The east face~of the dike separating Stages .Y and O is the west bank
of a nature lake that w%2t cover all o£ Stages 0; I and Ii. Originally it was
planuet to backfill oven this rock slope and revegetate in 1979. Because of the
backfilling and leveling going on in Stage Y, that is expected to continue for as
long as 35 years, this small area in Stage 0 will be exposed to less than .{teal
conditions for revegetatioa. .We watsld.like to leave this 1.26 acres in'ns'present

configuration until Eha§e .Y is t+eii~<ievegetated. Revegetation of both areas in a ,~.'.~±
single phase operation yiould be much easier for us to handle and will improve the
Likelihood of successful revegetation on the first planting.
