There are no known endangered or threaten species that
would potentially inhabit this site.
According to EI Paso County Wildlife Habitat Maps, the following are species that may
typically be present on the subject property:
• Mourning Dove
• Scaled Quail
• Pronghorn
The site will be reclaimed to its current use (rangeland) so any wildlife habitat disturbed
during mining will be restored for wildlife use upon completion of reclamation. In
addition, the site is in a very rural location and there exists large areas of similar habitat
surrounding the proposed site for wildlife use.
Any disturbances to wildlife habitat will be temporary and the operation is not expected
to significantly affect wildlife populations during the life of the mine.
Oglebay Norton Industrial Sands, Inc.
