for loading, etc.) coal will be stockpiled in raw coal storage azeas within the facility.
Raw coal stockpiles will be maintained at adequate levels to insure continuing
operations during times when direct truck coal feed through the truck dump is not
available.
• The screening process involves the sepazation of various sizes within the raw coal,
dependent upon customer demand and requirement. Generally three (3) products are
made at the TCC facility; stoker, lump, and fines. On a typical basis, as received coal
typically contains approximately 30 percent fines, 60 percent stoker, and ten (10)
percent lump.
• Limited coal crushing is performed at the loadout facility. After initial size
sepazation, only that portion of the coal lazger than required for customer shipment is
crushed. Total percentage coal crushed during a typical yeaz has been less than ten
(10 percent total coal shipped.
• More than 85 percent of all cal sized at the TCC facility is directly loaded Into rail
cars at the time of screening for shipment to customers. The remaining portion of
sized coal, primarily stoker and lump, is stockpiled adjacent to the screening pants for
shipment by truck. Loading of trucks is done by front-end loader.
• During September of 1993 a truck loadout bin was installed on the site to facilitate
the selling of domestic stoker coal. The loadout bin is filled with afront-end loader.
Use of the loadout bin allows pickups and small trucks to be loaded efficiently.
• During February 2006, the original at-grade truck scale was replaced with an
elevated, portable, 3-segment, flatbed scale with duel approach ramps. Total actual
scale length is approximately 70 feet with the elevated running surface located 3.5'
above surrounding ground level. The scale is supported by four sets of movable
concrete blocks: one set of blocks is located under each approach ramp and two
2'x3'x12' blocks support the center segment of the scale. The old truck scale inner
workings and running surface were removed and filled with gravel and the remaining
below grade concrete box was used to support the new scale.
The layout and location of facilities at the TCC loadout aze shown on the Facilities Map
(Map 5). The flowsheet of the operation is included with this application as Loadout Facility
Flowsheet (Map 6).
MR-23
A PP2ovED
3~6~0 6
2.05 - 2Ra Rev. 2/06
ti. ):1:: i;• , a., kn. - -..n.* Y,.t . pp,',. r.~iw::t. sT9~::~i' .:-'+..-
