INTRODUCTION
Our investigation of the Adams Aggregates, Inc.,
properties in Sections 1~ and 23, T. 1 S., R. 67 W., (see
Figure 1) revealed that the gravel deposits on the subject
property are of two types.
1. Marginal gravel deposits in Parcel No. 1.
2. Marginal and suitable deposits in portions
of Parcel Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
FIELD INVESTIGATION
Our investigation, which included a brief on-site
inspection, confirmed that the Adams County Planning Depart-
went map of these deposits is a satisfactory representation
of the deposits which will be encountered in each of these
areas. The "suitable" accumulations of gravel as outlined
on the Adams County map are commercial deposits and are similar
to those being extracted dust south of the subject property.
The marginal deposits, although less attractive, are suitable
for some specific commercial applications.
Two different types of gravel deposits are present.
The ones in Parcel No. 1 are dry and can be removed without
encountering water table conditions. However, the deposits
on the remainder of the property are in areas of a shallow
ground water table. Excavation to remove these deposits will
require some form of dewatering equipment or dikes.
