GREG LEWICKI
TEL:1_303-629-9
Jul 24.97
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII N
999
4. General Reveget!!ti(ttt..l'r•onJam
21:19 No .002 F.04
Exhlblt E - Reclamation Plan (contlnuad)
Baseline information on vcl;c:tation is presented in Exhibit J -Vegetation Inli~rmation. Although it
is undecided whether irritation will be used for the post-mining site, the revcgetation plan will be
based on dryland pasture: which is planned as the post-mining use at the tune of this application.
The plan is designed to create a vegetative cover that is at least equal in extent to the cover of the
natural vegetation prior to ,,,fining. Gress species native to the area have hccn included.
Since minor portions of Il,c reclaimed site (<5%) will be 2.OH:1.OV, these areas will be broadcast
seeded. For flatter areas, drill seeding maybe used at'/~ the broadcast rate. prior to reseeding, BBcB
will collect samples of tl,c redistributed soil, have it analyzed, and add ibrtilizers specifically
designed for the actual soil conditions and proposed revegetation plan. This will be done before any
reseeding of two or rnorc ;rents at any time.
When the soils and any sr,itahlc tine material have been spread, the surface will be smoothed and
worked until moderately fine where the seed is to be drilled; the surface will be left fairly rough
where seed is to be hroadcast.
In order to mitigate tl,c removal of some shrubs located on the north hen•m by partially mining this
berm, B&B will plant 15 - 5 gallon shrubs in the meadow area iocatcd in,rnediately north of the
permit area. This pl:rrrting will be done when ground is initially broken nn the site, although the
berm may not be mined for years later. The planting will consist of chokecherry, serviceberry,
mountain mahogany anti wood's rose.. This is planned due to comments received from the
Colorado Division, of Wildlife stating that the shrubs/trees on the north I,crm ere.'valtiable and
Carol Ann P°rmil CDM(; Application 29
