BO% 2162 <br />._ ~ DURANGO, COLORADO 81302 <br />June 15, 1991 <br />TO: National King Coal, Inc. <br />SUBJECT: Quarterly Subsidence Monitoring, Second Quarter, 1991. <br />1) The second quarterly visual inspection for subsidence, King <br />Coal Mine, La Plata County, Colorado was made on a bi-weekly <br />basis from April 1991 through June 16, 1991. <br />2) No inpspection was possible during the first quarter because <br />of snow cover and road conditions. <br />3) No new fracturing has occurred in SWa SEA NE a. Sec. 31, - <br />T35N, R11W. <br />4) No new fracturing has occurred in the S~ NW's Sec. 32, T35N, <br />R11W. <br />5) No new fracturing has occurred in the N'~ SW; Sec. 32, T35N, <br />R11W. <br />6) Fracturing in the SEA( SE; Sec. 31, T35N, R11W has extended <br />from a point over the SW corner of Mining Section no.3 West, <br />in a ENE arc approximately 1000'. Downward movement of approx- <br />imately 0.1' was noted, and photographed, on the north side. <br />No drainages or man made structures are threatened.' <br />7) No other evidence of subsidence was noted during surface <br />inspections during this quarter. <br />8) A permanent surface subsidence monitoring map has been pre- <br />pared showing subsidence features observed by this investigation <br />(1) <br />
