Over extensive portions of the north and west parts of the study area, grassland dominated by
the above species occurs. In general, locations further upslope (above the agricultural activities
of the valley bottom) are less modified and less likely to be dominated by Japanese brome or
cheatgrass. Some areas of grassland are heavily infested by noseburn fI'racia urticifolia).
