• INTRODUCTION <br />During April, May, and June of 1991, the Lillylands Mine site <br />(Permit Application C-91-078) was visited and sampled in compliance <br />with Rules 2.04.10 and 4.15. The proposed permit area is located <br />within Sections 4 and 5 of T 45 N, R 15 W, N M P Meridian, and <br />Sections 32 and 33 of T 46 N, R 15 W, N M P Meridian. Sampling was <br />carried out by Mr. Matthew S. Hayes and Ms. Jan McKee (the latter <br />of Greystone Development Consultants, Inc). Greystone provided <br />herbaceous production sample results and assisted in the <br />identification of plant communities, reference areas, and plant <br />species while Mr. Hayes was responsible for the rest of the project <br />and its overall direction. Portions of this report were provided <br />by Ms. McKee. <br />• METHODS <br />Threatened and Endangered Species: <br />During reconnaissance and sampling, the site and adjacent <br />areas were searched for threatened or endangered plant species, <br />with special attention given to the possible existence of Payson <br />lupine (LUOinus crassus) which has been previously identified in <br />the vicinity of Naturita. Prior to the main portion of field work, <br />Payson lupine specimens held at the University of Colorado <br />herbarium were viewed. No threatened or endangered species were <br />-1- <br />• <br />
