Gcpt. Gtf.aiw z! resources
On behalf of TBM I arould like to advise that the NPDI•S Permit
issued by the Health Department is being amended to an Activities
Permit. The Department of Ilealth is reviewing this amendment request
and will issue a permit upon the c~letion of their review. A copy of
the Activities Permit will be forwarded to your attention as soon as it
is received. Therefore, please disregard the NPDES application present
in the arrend~nt application of C~tober 7, 1980. I have enclosed a
copy of the Health Department correspondence for you to incorporate into
the TBM file.
A recent visit to the site revealed that TBM has not handled the
topsoil from cut 2 in pit 1 as prescribed in the approved mining and
reclamation plan. This is to advise that 'ISM has constructed tsrt~orary
topsoil stockpile in cut 2 due to the fact that the site to receive this
topsoil is not adequately prepared at this time. It is expected that
this area will be fully prepared within the next thirty days and the
topsoil replaced on the area thereafter. Therefore, TBM respectfully
requests that you allow the terr>porary stockpiling of the topsoil in cut
2 for approximately thirty days. In any event, TBM wanted to keep you
advised of the situation at the mine and explain why the topsoiling
activities are not following those defined in the approved plan.
P. O.
