During
the initial phase of opening this pit, it was found that an old river channel
crosses the North edge and Northeast corner of the original site. This channel
is carrying considerable subsurface water. In order to avoid possible environ-
mental damage to the old channel and the additional dewatering costs, we propose
to move the area to be mined Southwesterly to the area shown.
We hope this can be handled as a Technical Revision since the area is the same
size and situated the same. There does not appear to be any major change to the
original concept of mining and reclamation for this pit.
Please advise us: if there are any questions; if the matter can be reviewed at
this month's meeting; and if we should have a representative attend. The
operator is desirous of mining yet this Fall.
Respectfully,
McRae Short, Inc.
i~~K--uG
Gerald B. McRae, Professional Erigineer an
Land Surveyor, Colorado Reg. No. 6616
cc: Robert Bosley
