Yellox Clover and Ladak Alfalfa should also be used.
The establishment o£ brush thickets xould provide both food and cover for xildlife and
is highly recommended. Species to plant in order of preference are Plum, Buffaloberry,
Chokecherry, Wild Rose, d Sandhill Cherry. To benefit Raptors & other bird species I
recommend the planting of trees like Russian Olive & Cottonless Cottonxood. A mainten-
ance free system of planting the shrubs is described by Warren Synder in April-F'ay 1983
issue of Colorado Outdoors, a Colorado Division of Wildlife publication. Sealing part
or all of the pit could help hold water during xet years or aster heavy thunderstorms.
Altho•_ch not ec c::ective as thickets, brush piles cz~ be constructed to pro~•ided cever
for wildlife.
Prepared By:~ ~ ~• _!~!~' _ ,~~/. _ Date-_~~I~.Sl9~
Submitted By:~ ~ _ bate ` ~.~~~
-~ • - -. ~. om~..~ t t vof if no processe ~ f'thin 1 }•~ar.
