The average annual precipitation is about <br />12 inches, average annual air temperature is about 53 percent F., <br />and the frost-free season. is about 168 days. Slopes are nearly <br />level to gently sloping. <br />Typically, the surface layer is brown loam about ~ inches thick. <br />The underlying layers are brown, pale brown and light yellowish brown <br />•- <br />:-~- loam and fine saner loam to a depth of 60 inches. <br />Included are small areas of Fort Collins loam, 0 to 2 percent <br />c <br />slopes and Kim loam, water table phase, 0 to 3 percent slopes. Kim <br />sandy loam also included. <br />Perrceability of .the Kim soil is moderate. Available water <br />capacity is high. Runoff is slow, erosion hazard is slight. <br />Most of the acreage is cultivated. Hay and pasture are the <br />chief crops. Many other crops are grown including fruit, corn and <br />vegetables. <br />IInder good management the Kim soil is very productive. All <br />crops are irrigated and best yields are obtained with fertilization. <br />Kim soil is well suited for development.
