EXHIBIT 26
RILL AND GULLY PLAN
l . All areas of revegetation will be inspected once in the spring following snow melt, and
monthly from June through September.
2. Reseeding of erosion resulting from spring runoff will be completed between May 15
and June 1.
3. Reseeding of erosion resulting from summer storm events will be completed after
October 15 and prior to ground freezing
4. Temporary measures to control erosion maybe used in lieu of seeding for areas of
minor erosion. Temporary measures may include hay bales, rock checks, silt fence and
other appropriate measures deemed effective.
• 5. The use of field judgment is essential to control and repair rills and gullies. Many
repairs can be completed with a rake and shovel along with hand mulching and reseeding.
However, extensive erosion may require the use of mechanized equipment.
6. In the event that maintenance requires the installation of a permanent structure, e.g.
Reno Mattresses, culverts, etc., a repair and maintenance plan will be submitted to the
Division, with approval prior to installation. Temporary action may be taken prior to
approval to minimize additional erosion.
7. Areas subject to this plan will include the reclaimed areas referenced in the Annual
Reclamation Report. Maintenance work completed during the year will be noted in the
report , as will the installation of any temporary or permanent control structures.
~` (I~-993 4/03/00)
~{N-03
