u <br />Part (1)(d) of Ihile 4.05.9, states that the stock tanks shall not <br />result in~the diminution of the quantity and quality of water available <br />to local water right holders. Seepage through the tank bottoms will mix <br />with the spoil and may contribute additionally to the dissolved chemical <br />load in the spoil aquifer. The spoil aquifer flow discharges.at the <br />furthest dcwngradient pit highwall as a series of spoil springs. <br />The downgradient spoil springs that would ultimately receive water <br />infiltrating through the tank bottoms into the spoil are spoil springs <br />I, 3, and 4. These spoil springs will be monitored monthly from May <br />through September for pH, TDS, and 504 and bimonthly (May, July and <br />September) for the suite parameters listed in Table 1. <br />The above-specified monitoring will be conducted until October 1992. At <br />this time the data will be analyzed and a revised PHC for the Seneca II <br />Mine, which incorporates an analysis of the impacts of these proposed <br />stock tanks on the hydrologic balance, will be performed and submitted <br />as a Technical Revision concurrent with their review of the revised PHC <br />analysis, Peabody will request that MLR make a determination <br />(affirmative or negative) regarding the use of these stock tanks as <br />permanent impoundc~ents in the final reclamation. <br />• <br />7-2-2 Revised 11/28/90 <br />
