Well 20-1 was completed in 1966, with a 4-inch I.D. surface casing to 803 ft and open hole from 803 to 2,084 ft. The hole was sealed with heavy mud at the time. Deviation of the hole was unknown prior to re opening in April 1997, but blockage was known to exist at 100 feet depth. Parts of the locked cap were retrieved from the hole that was found to contain other debris such as stones, metal fragments from the broken cap, sticks of brush, and trash. The well was deepened to 2248' in order to obtain additional geophysical information about the Saline Zone. The hole was plugged back with cement to 1365-ft. The top of the cement at 1365 was tagged with NO flush joint wireline core rods which became stuck in the hole as a result of the cement settling between the annular space of the NQ core hole diameter and the OD of the NO core rods. The NQ rod was cemented in the hole and the hole was reentered with BQ drill rod and cored from 1365 to 1397-ft. Sampling July 25, 1999 water quality sample collected using stainless steel bailer. August 27, 1999 water quality sample collected using stainless steel bailer. • September 26, 1999 water quality sample collected using dedicated gas displacement pump. October 1999 no water quality sample collected as a result of precipitate plugging in the sample return line. Notes This well is not included in the Ground Water monitoring plan because in the completion there is a possibility that all of the aquifers are not isolated from each other and steel is used in the completion.
