The top of the casing was approximately 3-ft bgs
in the bottom of the drill cellar. The surface casing was permanently
cemented in place.
A blow-out preventer (BOP) stack was connected to the top of the
cemented casing string, and a gas bypass pipe (bluey line) plumbed to the
BOP was run downwind and vented approximately 80 ft from the rig.
After the casing cement set, the core hole was advanced from 154-ft bgs
with 3.75-inch~iameter HX drilling tools to a depth of 1393-ft bgs.
At about 1393-ft bgs, a small volume of gas was encountered. The hole
was allowed to vent for approximately 30 minutes and drilling resumed at
a normal pace. Gas was not encountered in notable quantities during the
remainder of the drilling process.
The HX coring tools were tripped out of the hole, and the HX drill rods
were reset as temporary casing.
• . Three-inch-diameter NX drilling tools were used to advance the core hole
from 1393-ft bgs to TD at 2133-ft bgs.
• Rock core was recovered using a 10-ft-long Christensen double-tube core
barrel from 154- to 2133- ft bgs.
