CO 80203
Dear Mr. Dudash:
Division of immerals & Geology
Re: Trapper Mine Permit No. C-81-010
Request for Response Regarding Fly Ash Use as Road Base Material
As we discussed during your visit of October 25, 1995, I am enclosing EPRI Report TR-
105127 which discusses the environmental assessment of power plant fly ash use in road con-
struction applications. Section S-1 of the report might be of particular interest to you.
After reviewing this report, would you please respond to our request as to whether or not it
would be possible to further explore the possibility of using Craig Station fly ash as road sub-
base on any new construction of Trapper haulroads. Of critical importance to us is whether
the Division would allow fly ash used as road base material to remain in place when fmal rec-
lamation of haulroads occurs. If not, there would be no economic justification for fly ash use
in our haulroad construction.
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this matter.
Sincer~ely,(,y~
Forrest V.
