Listed below are adequacy concerns which will need to be addressed on or before the <br />September 2, 198 decision date. I recommend that you contact the local Natural Resources <br />Conservation Service (NRCS) office in Akron a[ (970) 345-?006 for technical assistance. <br />Please contact me at (303) 866-3567 if you need additional time to prepare a response. <br />1) As required by Rule 6.3.4(1)(c)(ii), please state a[ what point in the mining plan the site will <br />be seeded. Explain how the seedbed will be prepared to eliminate compacted conditions (e.g., <br />plowed, chiselled, disced). State the type, application rate, and soil incorporation methods of <br />fertilizer application, if any. <br />2) As required by Rule 6.3.4(1)(c)(iii), please state the grass, forb, shrub and tree species to be <br />planted and the applicable quantities. Specify the quantity of each grass and forb species as <br />pounds of pure live seed per acre. <br />3) As required by Rule 6.3.4(1)(c)(iv), please specify the application method for grass and forb <br />seeding. If the seed is to be broadcast, the application rate shall be twice the rate required for <br />seed drilling. If the seedbed has not been adequately roughened prior to seeding, the seed shall <br />be raked or harrowed after broadcast application. <br />4) As required by Rule 6.3.4(l)(c)(v), please specify if a mulch is needed, the kind to be used, the <br />crimping method, and rate of application. <br />
