~II II~II~II~II~~ II~
999
EXHIBIT 8
SITE DESCRIPTION

FREMONT COUNTY'S IRON MOUNTAIN ROAD GRAVEL PIT
Mr. Rick Romano, Soil Conservationist with the United States
Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, Canon City Field
Office has visited the location and prepared a "Range Site
Description", "Vegetation Report" and "Reclamation Plan" for the site.
These documents are included in this application.
From field observation, and the study of aerial photographs and
topography maps the only man made structure within two hundred feet of
the site appears to be the Iron Mountain Road (aka Fremont County Road
#1) and that is only within two hundred feet because of the haul rood.
The Glen Vista Property Owners Association has an active 110
reclamation permit in Bureau of Land Management Tract No. 47 just
South of this proposed site. The maintenance of County Roads in this
general area is the reason for opening this pit.
There are no water resources that could receive any drainage from the
site. It is the County's intention to place berms where necessary to
restrict stormwaters from leaving the site. To our knowledge there is
no documentation available for flow rates, water table elevations or
water quality conditions in this area.
