(Golder) has developed the following
procedure for the placement of the Drain Cover Fill:
- Prior to Drain Cover F~11 being loaded .onto a haultruck., the
haultruck bed will be inspected by the Ames foreman to ensure
that any oversized materials Prom previous hauling activities
have been removed. This is only required prior to the first
load of Drain Cover Fill being placed in the haultruck after
the haultruck has been used to haul another material type.
- The-loader operator will make every effort to remove any
oversized material prior to placement in the haultrucks.
- At placement location there will be, at a minimum, 1 Golder
CQA monitor and 2 Ames laborers present to identify and remove
any oversized particles larger than 1 1/2 inches and
deleterious materials. These monitors will have the. authority
to temporarily halt dozing operations in order to ensure the
following:
i) remove any oversized material prior to being covered;
2) ensure that the volume of material that the dozer is
pushing will not jeopardize the integrity of the
geomembrane;
3) monitor the thickness of tt'.o Drain Cover Fill to ensure
that the minimum thickness criteria is maintained; and
4) maintain a sufficient dozer speed to allow for the
observation and ramoval of oversized material.
octllb.let
