Both the plastic bottles and the glass bottles need to have <br />screw caps. Al] bottles are to be thorouehiy cleaned before the sample is placed in them. Those sample <br />bottles for parameters for acidification is needed may already have the acid in them. Do not throw the acid <br />out of the bottles. <br />For the bene5t of some pernittees who are new to discharge permits, the Division has added this paragrann <br />or"discussion of nGD< sampiin~. The sample for BOD< a[~the influent to the treatment faciliri is a composite <br />sample. A "composite sample" is defined as a minimum of four (4) grab samples collected at equally spaced <br />wo (2) hour intervals and proportioned according to flow. <br />Sample bottles are to be labeled. The label is to af5sed to each sample with the following information: <br />Location or identification of the sample site, i.e.. 3001 or OSOA, O~OB,etc <br />Dale and time of collection; <br />Name of sampler; <br />Type of analysis to be performed on the sample; <br />Indica[e whether sample was tiitered and/or whether acid was added. <br />
